Overall, CHDI envisions a future in which the potential and creativity of all people, especially the young, are optimally expressed to promote individual well-being and socio-economic progress.
The Center for Human Development and Innovation (CHDI) provides a platform to bring together theory and practice, research and application, and partnerships between practitioners and academia to help address the most complex education, training/ skilling, and human development challenges facing Nepal and the South Asia region. It seeks to set a gold standard for research and policy analysis, communication and advocacy, implementation support and leadership development in the region. It also seeks to contribute to new global knowledge on what works, how to scale up cost-effective solutions, and how to unblock challenges for effective implementation and impact.
The Center seeks to play a leadership role in catalyzing human capital development in Nepal and the region. The Center’s involvement in the review, critique and development of education and human development policies and programs of the Government and development partners will provide an independent voice in the development space with the intent of improving efficiency, cost-effectiveness, transparency, and value for money. Globally the Center will act as a resource to and collaborate with world class higher education and policy institutions on various cutting-edge research and policy development initiatives in the areas of education and human development.
